McMillin, Linda - Art

Hello My Name Is...

Linda McMillin

Hello!  I am the high school art teacher at Parma, and I began work here in 2009.  For fifteen years before that, I worked as a Para-educator in the middle and elementary schools at the district.

I earned my teaching certificate at Lewis-Clark College, by attending two summers and completing the rest of the program online.  I was able to student-teach with Steve Looney, who was the previous art teacher at the high school for 19 years.  Currently I am working on my Masters in Art Education through Boise State University.

Classes offered at the high school are Drawing I and II, Design Basics (A dual credit class through CWI), Painting I and II, crafts, ceramics, pottery, and stained glass.

I love my job and am very fortunate that Parma has great students and a community that is very supportive of art.

Each year Toby Leonard, the band teacher, and I have an Art and Jazz Night in May.  This year we hope to include Ms. Sharkey's work from her middle school students.  Student artwork is on display and for sale, and we offer desserts for sale to help raise monies for art supplies.
