Biographical Information about Mrs. Dykas

Hello My Name Is...Jane Dykas (Twitter: @JaneDykas) (updated 8-19-16)

I am originally from Boston, MA. I lived in California for almost 20 years, but I finally came to my senses and moved to Idaho in 2001. I am married and have grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. My husband and I live in a small house in Middleton with our very spoiled poodle Boudreaux.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at North Dartmouth. My major was English literature, and my minors were history and drama. I received a masters degree from Emerson College in acting and directing. I earned a masters from Stanford University as well. That masters degree was in directing and critical theory of theatre.

I have directed professional and amateur productions in Boston, San Francisco, and here in Parma. My recent Parma productions were Twelve Angry Jurors, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, A Zombie Christmas, Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, and To Kill a Mockingbird.

I am now a member of the Idaho Coaching Teacher Network. This group of teachers is led by the Idaho Department of Education in an effort to improve curriculum and teaching practices. While this work will take me out of the classroom for a few extra days this year, it will help me improve the effectiveness of my teaching. I love teaching here at Parma. We have a great staff and wonderful students.
